MASANTOL – Some 600 residents from five villages here recently benefitted from a medical and dental mission organized by the Rotary Club of Southern Pampanga at the Tarik Suliman High School.

According to Rotarian and Board Member Nelson Calara, the medical and dental mission aims to provide health assistance to indigent people of Masantol and nearby towns.

He stressed that residents of villages in the left bank portion of Pampanga River, specifically Barangays Alauli, Balibago, Bagang, Nigui, Sagrada and Sapang Kawayan are prioritized due to the remoteness of the area from any medical institution.

As a native of Barangay Nigui himself, Calara said that he personally witnessed the unavailability of proper and immediate medical attention in the area.

He stressed that medical and dental practitioners provided free medical check-up and dental services to the residents, as well as medicines prescribed to them by doctors.

Barangay Sagrada Chief Mario Canilao, for his part, expressed his gratitude to the members of the Rotary Club of Southern Pampanga for extending their resources to their village.
