CSF recognizes barangay nutrition committee, scholar
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— In culmination of the Nutrition Month Celebration, the City Government of San Fernando through its City Health Office, recognized the most outstanding barangay nutrition committee and most outstanding barangay nutrition scholar recently at city hall.
Dubbed “Healthy Diet, Gawing Habit for Life”, Barangay Dela Paz Norte was hailed as most outstanding barangay nutrition committee because of its excellent implementation of nutrition progr am s.
Brenda Mendoza from Dela Paz Norte, was recognized as most outstanding barangay nutrition scholar because of her proper monitoring of the nutritional status of the children and providing nutrition counseling services to the community.
City Health Officer Dr. Eloisa Aquino said the aim of the awarding is to encourage barangays to work hard for them to achieve good nutrition in their respective areas.
For his part, Mayor Edwin “Edsa” Santiago stressed that having good nutrition is the key of achieving a healthy lifestyle. He encouraged Fernandinos to participate in the different health programs of the city.
“Nag-uumpisa sa barangay ang pagkakaroon ng malusog na pamayanan, kaya naman kung ang mga Fernandinos ay malulusog at malakas ang pangangatawan, siguradong magiging malusog at maunlad ang kanilang pamumuhay dito sa Syudad San Fernando,” Santiago said.
Also, an on-thespot poster-making contest was held as part of the month long celebration. Erica Lady Ceina De Ocera from San Fernando Elementary School won first place, followed by Sharon Renee Quizon from Telabastagan Integrated School (secondd place), and Patrick Saballa from Calulut Integrated School (third place).— CSF-CIO din
