Garbo vow­sto end mal­nu­tri­tion in kids

MABALACAT CITY — Mayor Crisos­tomo Garbo has vowed to sus­tain the city govern­ment feed­ing pro­gram in pub­lic schools to end mal­nu­tri­tion among chil­dren com­ing from in­di­gent fam­i­lies.

Garbo said that some 2,488 school chil­dren in Mauaque Maragul Ele­men­tary School and Mawaque Re­set­tle­ment Ele­men­tary School ben­e­fit­ted from the re­cent sup­ple­men­tal feed­ing pro­gram spon­sored by the lo­cal govern­ment unit.

The mayor lauded the City So­cial Wel­fare and De­vel­op­ment Of­fice for lead­ing the im­ple­men­ta­tion of the project.

Garbo also led the top­i­cal flu­o­ride ap­pli­ca­tion for the stu­dents of Dau Ele­men­tary School. The project, he said, was con­ducted by the Pro­vin­cial Health Of­fice in co­op­er­a­tion with the city’s health of­fice.

The mayor ear­lier vowed to pri­or­i­tize health pro­grams for his in­di­gent con­stituents.

Garbo said he has al­lot­ted some P15-mil­lion for the es­tab­lish­ment of a cen­tral phar­macy, P15mil­lion for med­i­cal as­sis­tance, and P10-mil­lion for burial as­sis­tance.
