LTFRB suspends bus trips bound to Aurora, Quezon

Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) suspended on Tuesday bus trips going to Quezon and Aurora provinces due to the bad weather.
LTFRB spokesperson said the suspension was based on the weather forecast of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Pagasa said the two provinces will be directly hit by Tropical Depression Maring which may cause landslide and floodings.
In Baranggay Biga, Pitogo, Gumaca, Quezon, Major General Rhoderick Parayno, commander of 2nd Infantry Division said 22passenger of a DLTB bus bound for Bicol was rescued after the said vehicle was stranded in a flooded area.
Meanwhile, he said at least 100 persons were evacuated to a safer ground in Los Banos and Nagcarlan in Laguna due to the threat of the weather disturbance.
Parayno said clearing operations in Baranggay Wawa, Nasugbu Batangas is being conducted after it was hit by a landslide.
He said no casualties were reported in their area of responsibility.
For her part, National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) spokesperson Romina Marasigan said they are still consolidating the reports from their offices in the affected areas.
She urged the public to be alert and vigilant and to follow advices of the authorities for their safety.
