61 RPSB3 contingents honored
CAM P OLI VAS, Pampanga - Members of the Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB3) who were deployed for almost four months in Cagayan de Oro were given welcome honors Sunday night.
Chief Superintendent Amador Corpus, Police Regional Office-3 (PRO3) director, said a total of 61 personnel from the RBSB3 headed by Senior Inspector Dennis Duran were deployed in Cagayan de Oro from June 27 to October 26, during the armed conflict between the government forces and the Maute Group.
They were deployed there as an augmentation force, Corpus said.
He said the deployment of police personnel is also in line with the “Tour of Duty of PNP Personnel Deployed in Armed-Conflict Areas, Counter- Insurgency Operations and other Similar Serious Threats to National Security”and is a continuing PNP program stated in PNP Circular Number 2009-015 dated August 10, 2009.
Corpus said PRO3 has been sending augmentation troops to Mindanao since 2011 during the time of the Basilan crisis to complement the police forces there.
A simple but meaningful “boodle fight” followed the honors.
