61 RPSB3 con­tin­gents hon­ored

CAM P OLI VAS, Pam­panga - Mem­bers of the Re­gional Pub­lic Safety Bat­tal­ion (RPSB3) who were de­ployed for al­most four months in Ca­gayan de Oro were given wel­come hon­ors Sun­day night.

Chief Su­per­in­ten­dent Amador Cor­pus, Po­lice Re­gional Of­fice-3 (PRO3) di­rec­tor, said a to­tal of 61 per­son­nel from the RBSB3 headed by Se­nior In­spec­tor Den­nis Du­ran were de­ployed in Ca­gayan de Oro from June 27 to Oc­to­ber 26, dur­ing the armed con­flict be­tween the gov­ern­ment forces and the Maute Group.

They were de­ployed there as an aug­men­ta­tion force, Cor­pus said.

He said the de­ploy­ment of po­lice per­son­nel is also in line with the “Tour of Duty of PNP Per­son­nel De­ployed in Armed-Con­flict Ar­eas, Counter- In­sur­gency Op­er­a­tions and other Sim­i­lar Se­ri­ous Threats to Na­tional Se­cu­rity”and is a con­tin­u­ing PNP pro­gram stated in PNP Cir­cu­lar Num­ber 2009-015 dated Au­gust 10, 2009.

Cor­pus said PRO3 has been send­ing aug­men­ta­tion troops to Min­danao since 2011 dur­ing the time of the Basi­lan cri­sis to com­ple­ment the po­lice forces there.

A sim­ple but mean­ing­ful “boo­dle fight” fol­lowed the hon­ors.
