CAPACITY BUILDING FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

In view of the DepEd’s call to infuse strategic direction to teachers, The Betis National High School, through the combined efforts the teachers, conducted a threeday LAC sessions on Professional Development:
A Capacity Building seminar held on October 25-27, 2017 at the faculty lounge. This aimed to equip teachers with leadership, management, and instructional skills required to deal with the complexities posed by the increasing demands in the field; to tap teachers potentials and to inculcate the impor tance of commitment and dedication.
The sessions were participated in by the 74 teachers of the school The speaker were: Michelin Danan and Rowel Diwa spoke on Effective Public Speaking, Ann Marjor ie Pico on Test Construction, Sharie Miguel on Oral and Wr itten Communication, Lunicita Romuar on Common Grammatical Errors, Romelita Abordo on Teaching Strategies, Marlyn Jingco on Instructional Materials, Ernesto Balingit on Positive Discipline Alvin Sibug on Computer Aided Instruction.
Feedbacks, insights or reflections were given at the close of the sessions. With commonnalities- the LAC sessions were a replenishments of the near ly rusting prior knowledge that they already possess..but teacher Carol Abar rientos feedback differed, “Instead of enjoying and spending quality time with her toddlers at this sembreak, what is in this activities that are more worthy of my time?
And later quips, “Indeed! Refiills! They are worthy of my attendance”.
