With all the positive feedback about his character Sandrino in the hit series La Luna Sangre, Richard Gutierrez admitted he is thankful that fans of the show have embraced his character. “Siyempre ang sarap ng feeling kasi nga it’s fun. I realized that it’s fun portraying a villain. As an actor, you get to be creative and it’s like showcasing another side. It’s really about being creative as an actor so it’s so much fun and I’m really enjoying it. I’m really happy that people don’t hate me as much as they should. Siyempre yung typical villain siyempre hinihate ng audience (laughs),” he told PUSH.

The soon-to-be father of two also shared that he really prepared and did research for his role as the strong and powerful vampire leader in the show. “Wala naman ako exact peg. I really just went with the flow and I rewatched a lot of films just to get back on track and it’s really fun collaborating also with my directors and my co-actors. It seems like everybody is openminded and ready to collaborate so that’s a good environment for me,” he admitted.

Apart from his hit show, Richard said he feels twice blessed with the arrival of a new baby boy with fiancée Sarah Lahbati next year. “Actually I didn’t expect 2017 to be this good. This year was really good surprisingly. I got my first big project with ABS-CBN doing really well and then I have another baby on the way so two big blessings for this year,” he said.

For the holidays, Richard said he just wants to be able to spend more time with his growing family because he has been busy with almost daily tapings for La Luna Sangr e.

Richard also wanted to tell fans that there are many more twists in their series that fans should watch out for. “Abangan niyo kung ano mangyayari kay Tristan and ano yung role ni Sandrino sa buhay nilang dalawa talaga. Marami pang revelations, marami pang exciting na mangyayari,” he added.
