THE EFFECT OF MOTIVATION IN TEACHING

-

ALONA V. PRADO

The teacher, being the focal figure of education, must be competent and knowledgeable in order to impart knowledge they could share with the students.

Good teaching is something personal.

Effective teaching is another.

The teacher must be able to recognize the individual differences, adjust and suit instruction to learners.

Teachers play a varied and vital role in the classroom and are considered the light in the classroom. They are entrusted with so many responsibilities that may range from complex to very challenging jobs.

It is very necessary that we need to understand the need to be motivated in doing everyday work the same is with motivating students to enjoy learning in the classroom. When students are motivated, learning will easily take place.

However, motivating students to learn requires a very challenging role on the teacher’s part. It requires a variety of teaching styles and strategies to capture and maintain interest all throughout the lesson.

Above all, the teacher himself, must come with a possession of adequate and sufficient knowledge of the objectives and standards of the curriculum, teaching skills, appreciation of the subject, ideals and interest.

A teacher needs to exert effort to lead and change a life that is stimulating and satisfying.

Some students are naturally enthusiastic about their studies but there are really some who needs to be guided or stimulated by the teacher. Effective classroom learning depends on the teachers’ability to maintain the students’ i nt er est .

Not all students are properly motivated by the same values, needs and wants. Some are motivated by challenges and the teacher plays the most important role for it. — oOo—
