Casinosboon to Clark, PH
CLARK FREEPORT — Casinos in the former American military base here are providing sizeable revenues to the state-run Clark Development Corporation (CDC) and the Philippine government, according to the newlyminted chairman of the Clark Investors and Locators Association (CILA).
For 2017, the casinos remitted more than P400 million to the CDC and about P1.3 billion to the national coffers, Alvaro disclosed to media during the weekly forum of the Capampangan In Media , Inc. (CAMI) last Friday at the BaleBalita here.
Alvaro mentioned the casinos as Midori, Widus and Royce hotels, all-privately owned. Alvaro said he didn’t know of the financial contribution of the government-run Mimosa casino.
Meanwhile, Alvaro said that President Duterte told the casino operators in the country to contribute to the development of the country during a meeting in Manila recently.
“The President asked the casino owners to share the economy with the fruits of their operations,” Alvaro said.
Among those present during the meeting with the president were Chairman Andrea Domingo of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) and Solaire Casino president Enrique Razon.
Domingo is a former congresswoman of the third district of Pampanga.
