BHWsget pedicabs from DOH, PHO
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The Department of Health (DOH) in collaboration with the Provincial Health Office (PHO) distributed 51 pedicabs to 19 municipalities and two cities with top performing Barangay Health Workers (BHW) on Monday.
The distribution was held at the Capitol grounds during the flag raising ceremony. It was led by Governor Lilia “Nanay Pineda and Dr. Marcelo Jaochico, PHO officer.
The lands in question were reportedly owned by former Board Member Catalina Bagasina who also served as mayor of the town.
Bagasina has allegedly been in a legal battle with the residents over the lands for the past years.
However, reported demolition of the 16 house occurred a couple of weeks ago. A case between the former official and the said residents is reportedly still pending in court.
Meanwhile, a resident who has been helping the affected residents said that the displaced residents are hoping for help from the government to at least have means to secure decent relocation.
The resident, who requested anonymity, added that concerned neighbors have been contributing food and money for those affected as they attempt to rebuild.
“These are poor people. Now they need to worry about the roof over their heads. It is very difficult for them,” the resident added.
Some of the residents who were displaced have been living in their former homes for as long as they could remember.
The resident added that the affected residents should at least be accorded decent and permanent relocation where they could effectively rebuild their homes.
Sun.Star Pampanga tried but was unable to reach Bagasina at press time.
