Crimesin CL down 36%

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO - With the continuous implementa­tion of enhanced police operations and the resumption of Project “Double Barrel,” the Police Regional Office III (PRO-3) noted a 36 percent decrease in crime incidents in Central Luzon.

PRO-3 Regional Director Chief Superinten­dent Amador Corpus disclosed that the regional police recorded 1,342 crimes from January 1 to March 18 of this year which is 761 cases lower from the total 2,103 crimes recorded in the same period last year.

Corpus added that significan­t decrease on this year’s crime incidence were noted on eight focused crimes namely murder, homicide, robbery, theft, physical injury, motornappi­ng and rape.

While the region’s crime incidence was down, Corpus revealed that PRO-3’s crime clearance efficiency and crime solution efficiency simultaneo­usly increased by 70.86 percent and 48.36 percent, r esp ect i vel y.

He noted that the police provincial office (PPO) with the highest percentage of decrease in crime incidents are Bataan PPO (48.21 percent), Nueva Ecija PPO (43.31 p er cen t ) , Olongapo City Police Office (42.19 percent), Angeles City Police Office (39.90 percent), Pampanga PPO (37.02 percent), Tarlac PPO (35.93 p er cen t ) , Bulacan PPO (30.57 percent) and Zambales PPO (22.22%), respect i vel y.

“This significan­t decrease in focus and prevalent crimes can be attributed to the intensific­ation of our anticrimin­ality measures particular­ly on motorcycle riding suspects and our resumed antidrug campaign and the community’s support and involvemen­t in our crime prevention and control efforts,” Corpus sai d.
