CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga A notorious drug pusher was killed after he initiated a gunfight with police authorities during a buy-bust operation in Balibago, Angeles City, Wednesday.

Chief Superintendent Amador Corpus, Police Regional Office III (PRO-3) director, identified the slain suspect as Cris Rosales, 31, a resident of Ipil Ipil, Pulong Maragul, Angeles City.

Corpus said Rosales ranked no. 4 in Angeles City’s most wanted motorcycle-riding suspects and was also included in the city’s drugs watchlist.

Initial investigation showed that operatives of the Angeles City Police Office Police Station 4 conducted a buy-bust operation against

the suspect in Hadrian Extension 3, Mt. View Subdivision, Barangay Balibago, Angeles City and upon sensing that he was dealing with lawmen, Rosales immediately drew his firearm and fired towards the police officers.

This prompted the lawmen to retaliate killing the suspect on the spot.

Recovered from scene were two transparent plastic sachets containing crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, one caliber .38 revolver loaded with five ammunitions, a SYM motorcycle and six spent shells from a calibre .45 pistol.

Corpus said Rosales has a standing warrant of arrest issued by RTC Branch 62 in Angeles City for violation of RA 9165 and is involved in the series of crimes committed within Angeles City.

The suspect was also charged with robbery and carnapping before the Prosecutor’s Office, he said.

“This accomplishment only goes to show that we are relentless in our waging war on illegal drugs and we will keep on conducting a wide range pro-active approach/ strategy in our fight against all forms of criminality,” added Corpus.
