The celebrated Filipina singer showcased her musical prowess during Friday’s one-night-only concert entitled “Asia’s Nightingale in Pampanga, Lani Misalucha” held at the leading concert destination in Central Luzon, the LausGroup Event Centre.

Misalucha wowed hundreds of guests as she performed several of her originals and renditions of soulful ballads and groovy hits from 80s. She also delighted audiences coming from in and out of the region with her remarkable tribute to her idol, Whitney Houston, as she belted out classic songs “Didn’t We Almost Have It All,” “Saving All My Love For You,” and “One Moment In Time”.

Known for being a naturally gifted vocalist, the seasoned recording artist who can scale five octaves and sing anything in vocal style, also enlightened guests why she earned the moniker the “Siren of the Strip” and “Multiplex Queen.” During the show, she impersonated famous musical personalities like Britney Spears, Celine Dion, and Diana Ross, in a fast-paced and extra amusing segment.

In an interview with SunStar Pampanga, Misalucha shared that she is very humbled to return to Pampanga, after her successful concert in the province last 2015.

“I am very happy to be back. I’ve always enjoyed performing here because the audiences were always so energetic and enthusiastic. Alam naman natin na ang mga Kapampangans ay true blue music lovers. And not known to many, I actually have roots here. My grandfather from my mother side is actually a Kapampangan,” she said.

“I also have good friends and close work acquaintances from Pampanga. So aside from its delectable food and warm people, I have so many reasons to love the province,” she added.

“Matagal ko nang poborito si Lani Misalucha. Kaya naman noong inaya ako ng mga pamangkin ko, sumama talaga ako para hindi ko ma-miss yung chance na makita ko siya sa personal,” the 74-year-old from San Matias, Pampanga said.
