BELIEVE IT OR NOT!

Have you ever been scolded in school when you were studying? Have you experienced standing in the corner for an hour? These and other actions were implemented to discipline pupils in school.

Nowadays, this is not applicable. Teachers were prohibited in doing so. Disciplinary actions were done in a very patient way such as counselling and privately talking to the concern child. Talking to parents thru a dialogue is another way.

And as time changes, many policies and regulations inside the school changed also. Corporal punishments were prohibited, verbal and physical abuses were taken aside. But if we come to think of it, if we will compare the kind of pupils then with the kind of children now, we can say that it has a big difference. Children then were more respectful and obedient to teachers. But now they seem to be more confident in doing what they want to do because they are not afraid anymore.

But believe it or not, it seems that discipline in the olden times is more effective in moulding the attitudes of the pupils. But of course, we have to take into consideration its effect on the child. Everything must be in moderation and for the welfare of the children.
