CORE OF BECOMING A TEACHER

-

AMANDA V. ESPINOZA

It is an admitted fact that teachers don’t reap much financial benefits. But what is important and more meaningful when they see the falling tears of parents because of joy when pupils learned to comprehend any situation or a concept, or when they see satisfied and things get done by their own children.

The underscored words will certainly add on in the core of becoming a teacher. One of the known qualities of the teacher is his adaptability - flexibility. This trait is manifested in any situation where the teacher is in. For instance, they are transferred to teach from one section to the other or in any grade level. They could easily fit in as well to the condition where their pupils are into. Attached to this flexibility is the creativity. Teachers become more creative and flexible when they are into different tasks that test them to bring out something new out the exerted effort. They can easily find ways and means on how they can make their pupils learn. In that sense, pupils were taught to be adaptive in any situation that calls their attention and be more creative in terms of dealing with things in life, for instance in real life problem sol vi ng.

A teacher who is a servant leader is an agent of change. Since they are such agent, they prepare lesson plans and different activities for their learners. This is one of the main reasons why teacher burnt their eyebrows. He is a leader who never waits of anything in exchange of what services he rendered to people. He inspires and influences so that others could make difference in their being.

Consciously or not, teachers have multiplying effects to their learners. Since they are role model, directly or not, they are being modelled by their pupils. At that sense, teachers have positive impact on their learners. Out of these impact, pupils work harder for excellence and teachers do give assistance to enhance their potentials through course of activities. Pupils are being prepared for their real life world by their teachers and this is the greatest contribution that teachers heartily give to the society. They teach values among learners through example to be kind, reverential, humble, persevere, strong-minded and above all, God loving. These values are found in our DepEd Core Values – Maka-Diyos, Maka-Tao, Makakalikasan and Makabansa which are exemplified by teachers. Therefore, teachers take the greater impact in nation building.
