ANGELES CITY — Pampanga First District Congressman Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin, Jr. has underscored the need implement infrastructure projects in order to solve the perennial flooding in some areas in Barangay Balibago, the city’s entertainment capital district.

Lazatin said this is only one of the programs which may help his father, Carmelo “Tarzan” Lazatin, who recently assumed office as chairman of Barangay Balibago.

“We can help Barangay Balibago a lot, firstly in infrastructure projects. When we were doing our campaign rounds, we saw a lot of places here that are flooded,” the solon said.

The young Lazatin disclosed that there are ongoing road pavement and canalization projects in the barangay implemented by his office.

“We have other projects like scholarship programs which we can extend to Barangay Balibago,” Congressman Lazatin added.

All of the 87 barangays in the province’s first congressional district benefit from several projects which are being coursed through his office by the national government, he said.

“So that will be extended to Balibago also. Even with livelihood we can allot funds for Tatang’s constituents through the Department of Labor and Employment,” Lazatin said.

“I can also add programs for skills trainings through the Technical Employment and Skills Development Authority, which before, we encountered difficulties because of lack of recipients. But now, after they saw the benefits of the program, many are joining it,” he added.
