San Juan Elementary School (SJES) conducted an orientation about the harmful effects of illegal drugs and other vices to the grade 4 to 6 pupils held on June 15, 2018 at the school assembly area.

Rosalia Pascual, Principal II, initiated the said orientation to inform the grades school and the teachers as well about the several effects on one’s health and the legal charges that can be filed against individual who will be caught in possession of illegal drugs.

Joel Sariego, Chaplain officer, one of the resource speakers emphasized that the target of the drug pushers are the students in secondary and elementary level as well, there are instances that the elementary pupils were used as drug courier without knowing how dangerous the package they are carrying. “The entire school must be vigilant, report any suspicious individual approaching our school children, said Sariego.

The campaign against illegal drugs was in consonance of the war against drugs of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte. SJES supported the government fight against drugs by arming the entire school particularly the pupils with knowledge about illegal drugs and other vices.
