IMMEASURABLE INSPIRATIONS AS AN EDUCATOR
LEIZEL G. SAHIBIL
I have been in the service as an educator for more than a decade. When I was reflecting on the things that kept me going, I realized how my students’ change my life and give me strength to endure all the stress and pressure that my work offered. I became a teacher not only to fulfill my dreams of becoming an individual with an endearing profession. I became a teacher because I felt like a stronger person who can cross countless boundaries for developing lifelong learners. I was completely engrossed on how my students inspired me and made me improve the value of being a teacher.
I felt younger every waking moment of my life. The excitement of being an educator was like sun-kissed breeze that brought magic in the simplicity of my life. I never felt tired in teaching my students and in exploring means to define my teaching qualities and strategies. I deliberately process how can I effectively try out new methodologies to compel my students to be responsible with their own learning. A MAPEH teacher is defined with action and motion. Students become highly motivated when they are encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning. In my classes, students are provided with task-based learning to raise their awareness that their physical fitness and over-all well-being should be on top of their priorities. A strong and healthy body would make them more than ready to take on greater and more difficult tasks ahead.
When I conducted home visitations, I was moved on the present situations of my students’families. I urged them to carry on with their present situations, accept things as they were and have a sense of urgency that they should be acting for the development of their families’conditions. I am completely conscious that I can do something and that would be to prepare my students for life. Certainly, a teacher should be leading students and inspiring them to go beyond their capabilities. I always get overwhelmed with the results and I know that I could be an agent of change in societal conditions of my students and my students’families. After a decade, I have accumulated positive outlook in life. Life of a teacher might be a tough struggle for competence, but I would always be stronger to face life’s difficulties. I am more than ready to be a teacher and a leader in the classroom and in my students’life.
