MY TEN POINTS

Quality Education has been the main goal of our country. But despite all the efforts of the government, we are still having hard time to achieve it. As a teacher, I would also want to have this long time goal to be realized and these are my 10 points of view to achieve it.

1. Principals should be responsible in managing the school. He should find ways on how to address school problems properly. They should strictly implement the policies of DepEd and of course they can only do that if they have thorough understanding about these. They should also be involved in making action researches and innovations.

2. Teachers are the main keys in making a child learn. Gone were the days wherein teachers are just confided in the four walls of their classrooms. As education progresses teachers should also progress. They should now learn to adopt in the modernized changes in education. They can do that through equipping themselves with skills and knowledge of the 21st Century. Learners nowadays are millennials. They find learning with chalk and board boring. They are more into learning through modern way. Teachers also should not stop learning. They should enrol in post graduate studies like masterate and doctorate programs in order to update and upgrade themselves with the latest trends in education.

3. In planning the curriculum, policies and guidelines, DepEd should include the principals and teachers since they are the ones who know the actual scenario in a school environment. With them being part of the planning, they can share about the problems that they usually encounter in their schools.

4. For policy makers they should not only create these policies or benchmark any policy but make sure that these are applicable or attainable especially in a country such as the Philippines. Never get tired of finding ways on how to improve the quality of education.

5. In order to address poverty, the government should find ways on how to provide decent jobs for jobless parents so they can earn enough and can able to send their children to school. Through these they can able to provide and sustain the needs of their children. A school can also help in this matter by educating parents and teaching them simple livelihood like small entrepreneurships.

6. For the government employees and politicians, have a clean heart and stop corrupting the funds intended not only for education but also for all the government organizations.

7. Parents should also be part in planning sessions of the schools. Let them speak and give their own opinions. Schools should also consider having a regular meeting with them so they would be updated about the happenings in the school and their children.

8. We should help each other in instilling in the minds of learners the importance of education to an individual.

9. More importantly, the commitment of the stakeholders in their respective roles in achieving and providing quality education and in producing competent learners.

10. Each us should work hand-in-hand to achieve success especial in education. If everyone who do their job sincerely and with a clean heart. DepEd’s Mission and Vision will be realized. And ofcourse with the help of our Almighty God.
