AirAsia Philippines hosts 3rd annual convention
AThe event dubbed “We Are All Champions: A Celebration of Dreams Coming True” was highlighted by a conference which focused on the company’s recent achievements and other important announcements.
During the gathering, AirAsia Philippines CEO Dexter Comendador shared that the carrier is proud to announce one of its biggest milestones this 2018.
“From two planes to 20 jets at present for Philippines and as AirAsia group with hubs all over the ASEAN and beyond, we have a combined fleet of more than 200 planes. As a group we had 200,000 guests in the first year to a current 89 million guests this year alone,” he said.
He added that with these feats, Asia’s largest low-cost airline with operations in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, India, Japan, and the Philippines, remains inspired to further serve its passengers, with the help of their highly-efficient All Stars who they also value most.
“Along the way, we have made dreams come true for more than 500 million people. We have helped our guests fly for the first time, stay connected to family and loved ones, experience new places, food and cultures, and explore fresh business opportunities, empower communities, among others. And it’s not just our guests, but the aspirations of our All Stars we’ve supported,” he noted.
“In the group we have Kugan, our office boy turned pilot, Miss Thailand as crew and later became pilot, here at home we have several cabin crew both male and female who are now pilots. We also have professional nurses, dentists, and CPA graduates turned pilots. These stories inspire us to always be better.
They are the fuel that drives the AirAsia dream machine to always raise the bar and surpass our limits every day,” he continued.
The executive then relayed that they are happy to be back in Clark and that AirAsia extend its gratitude to everyone who continue to support the airline and its endeavors.

Medical City (TMC) Clark Liver and Pancreas Center, in partnership with the Philippines Society of General Surgery recently held its first Postgraduate Course in Liver, Pancreas, and Biliary Tract.
Over a hundred family medicine doctors, surgeons, and gastroenterologists gathered for the whole day forum which aimed to reduce morbidity and mortality associated with liver and pancreatic diseases.
During the event, TMC Clark Liver and Pancreas Center Head Karen Latorre noted that the initiative is one way their department helps spread awareness of the said diseases which remain as one of the top ten leading causes of death in the Philippines.
“This event is the first post graduated course of our Liver and Pancreas Center which formally opened today. We conducted this forum to disseminate information regarding liver and pancreas diseases and most importantly give hope to those affected,” she mentioned.
She furthered that she also encourages those who have any of the risk factors including family history, excessive drinking of alcoholic beverages, chain smoking, and those who take too much of pain-killers, undergo initial screening, as these diseases can be prevented and cured with early detection.
Moreover, she shared that through the newly-launched Liver and Pancreas Center, TMC Clark aims to fulfill its mission of helping patients from Central Luzon who are suffering from liver and pancreas diseases, through cost-effective and advanced strategies provided by their exemplary Best Low-Cost Airline award to everyone who has made this possible. Ladies and gentlemen, this is AirAsia thanking you and embracing Clark, our real home,” he concluded.
The morning program was followed by a gala night which featured special performances by Filipina singersongwriter Kyla, singer/ rapper Quest, and R&B singer and record producer Keith Martin.
The gala hosted by Miss World 2013 Megan Young also entertained guests with a musical show featuring the Manila Symphony Orchestra, under the musical direction of Maestro Arturo Molina.
