PSA calls for entries to the 28th NSM awards
The
Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) is now calling for entries to the 28th National Statistics Month (NSM) Awards.
The NSM awards has been instituted since 2002 as a means of providing incentives to participating agencies or organizations in the observance of the NSM and is conducted annually pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 647, s.1990 “Declaring the Month of October of Every Year as the National Statistics Month,” in order to promote, enhance, and instill awareness and appreciation of the importance and value of statistics to the different sectors of society.
NSM acknowledges the outstanding participation of government agencies, regional offices, private sector, and youth organizations in the NSM celebration and encourages them to be more active in their involvement in the observance of future celebrations of the NSM.
Awards at stake are Best Statistical Activity Conducted by a Government Organization, Best Statistical Activity Conducted by a Private Organization, Best Youth Group Advocate for Statistics, Best Region and Best Local Government Unit (LGU).
The award for BEST LGU is launched this year aimed at recognizing LGUs which displayed strong support for statistics.
Should an organization wishes to apply, they may visit the official PSA website at psa.gov.ph to download nomination forms and check on other details like mechanics, criteria, among others.
Deadline for submissions of nominations and supporting documents is on or before 31 August 2018 to the 28th NSM Awards Secretariat through: Ms. Lotis I. Winners will be announced during the 29th NSM Closing Ceremony on October 9, at the BSP Assembly Hall, BSP Complex, Manila and will receive a plaque and cash prize.
