USING VARIOUS RESOURCES FOR BETTER LEARNING
ANNA MARIE C. VITUG
For teachers to be successful, they need to use a variety of resources that enable students to learn through a rich and varied selection of instructional materials.
These materials include books, independent and guided readers, writing programs, eLearning and other technological resources, “hands-on” manipulative and other practical or specialized resources that support the subject matter and student learning outcomes.
There is a wide range of stimulating and exciting materials out there to teach the concepts outlined in the curriculum. This will ensure that students are actively involved in their learning.
There is now a shift from textbook-based to standards-based instruction, bringing educational practices in line with the best school systems around the world.
With the implementation of the new K-12 curriculum, schools are now providing students with an invitation to explore, investigate, learn and collaborate. The learning environment nowadays provides ample opportunity for planned student interactions and engagement.
Teachers, therefore must use a wide range of stimulating and exciting materials to teach the concepts outlined in the curriculum to ensure that students are actively involved in their learning.
This will make our pedagogy better, as well as go further in what we know in the field we have chosen. We should always be on the look-out for best practices, tips and resources on how we can achieve what we want.
