Flood has been a common issue. This has always been one of the campaign promises of electoral candidates. Yet, up to now, it has not been resolved.

Due to flooding, school classes are affected. Even the school is free from the flood, the residents of the pupils are under waterflood. For safety, local officials are opting to cancel classes.

Many administrations have passed their terms but the massive flooding still causes hitch to Filipinos. There have been various strategies implemented from cleaning of rivers and drainage to digging holes. National campaigns have also been done to encourage the public to join the drive on flood control. Proper waste management has been integrated to school lessons to educate pupils and students the importance of the appropriate disposal of garbage to lessen the flood.

But the same old issue still exists.

Flooding may also the effect of the melting of ice caps from the North Pole due to global warming. Global warming is a natural phenomenon and is only aggravated by the people’s lack of discipline.

This boils down to the root cause and main solution for the worse flooding in the country.

The root cause may be the lack of proper discipline of people on following the ways to control flooding. The government may initiate drive to clean the drainage but if people still throw their waste improperly, the same problem will be experienced.

The main solution is our personal discipline. We should also be motivated to work with our government to eliminate, or at least, control the worsening flood. We should follow their orders on proper waste management and other related activities like tree planting. We can also initiate in our own area some activities which can promote this agendum.

We are the cause. We are the solution.
