WINGLESS BIRD

-

JENALYN S. YUMUL

I took a deep breath and opened the doors. I had to cover my eyes for the sun light was too bright. Once I got adjusted, I let out a soft gasp and my bag fell on the ground.

I smelled the fresh air around me and let out an indescribable smile which I haven’t done for years. I looked at the green tall trees standing proudly. It keeps on reminding me to always hold my head up high. I could spot some delicious fresh red apples hanging above me. This made me remember when I was a kid, having no worries, no competition, no pressures, no problems except on how to have that beautiful fruits on my hand.

The flowers were so beautiful swaying with the wind. The wind that has nice breeze against my face with the wonderful perfume of roses met my nose. I wondered how beautiful life could be? If love, care, nature, appreciation, and family are what matter the most? I heard the cute sound of chirping above and saw birds having fun up in the sky. I guess I had this envy and jealous feeling.

A bird could fly and just by flying up above the bed of cottons; it could only see and appreciate the beauty of the world. It will not be able to watch and witness all the dirt and unacceptable traits experiences here in the world.

The warm fiery sun shone on me, filling my body with warmth but did not care of it for the beauty was too great. Imagining how my life would be this beautiful? Wouldn’t life be wonderful if all of us only cares about everyone’s feelings? love? If only all of us could accept defeat and cheer & be there in times of ups and especially downs?— oOo—
