TECHNOLOGY AND EDUCATION

-

MARIE CRIS A. LOPEZ

Change is inevitable. And we are living in a world where everything changes every now and then.

Same is true with education, with the students and with the teachers. Teachers do not just teach with chalk and green board alone. They have also integrated technology with them. With the use of video clips, power point presentation, audios etc. This is to cater the needs of the students for they have different ways of learning things’

With the advancement of technology, all information that we need are just one click away. These were made to make life easier. But it was saddening that this also the cause of making students lazy and distracted on their studies. It is indeed alarming, and teachers knew this. They make some home visitations to check on their students/ pupils personally and to see what causes their absences and what causes them to cut their classes. Only to find out, that the parents wasn’t aware of it. They thought their children were in school. And if they ask their child where were they; they were in computer shops. It is always the case, but oftentimes it is.

Computer shops are always full of students/ pupils who are playing different on-line games, throwing cuss to each other and sometimes, even beting on who will win. Little did they know or they knew but they do not mind, that there were children out there who wants to be in school.

Even though the government says that education is free let’s face the fact that when you go to school, you need money to spend for projects and authorized fees. Some children hardly eat for their family is poor and parents had hardly have their jobs.

In searching for decent jobs, you must be at least a high school graduate. Make that as an inspiration to move forward. Use technology as an aide for your studies not a hindrance to it. Adapt to the changes that were happening. And one tool that you must have is EDUCATION.
