Royal Air to start 5 new destinatio­ns via Clark

CLARK FREEPORT— Royal Air is set to operate daily flights to Puerto Princesa, Cebu, Caticlan, Tagbilaran, and San Vicente (Palawan) starting November 12 this year.

Royal Air Charter Service, Inc., a Philippine­registered air carrier, said it will be mounting daily direct flights from the Clark Internatio­nal Airport (Internatio­nal Code: CRK) to these new destinatio­ns after being given the authority to operate as a commercial scheduled airline with both domestic and internatio­nal flights by the Civil Aeronautic­s Board (CAB) on July 26.

“These new destinatio­ns promoting tourist attraction­s in the southern Philippine­s will definitely draw in more foreigners wanting to visit the country via Clark,” Alex Cauguiran, president of the Clark Internatio­nal Airport Corporatio­n (CIAC), said.

Royal Air services the Clark to Cagayan North (Lal-lo) weekly chartered flights since April 29, Cauguiran added.

The air carrier will be using the British Aerospace (BAe) AVRO 146-100 aircraft, a four-engine 97-seater regional airliner, for its daily service.

Beginning November 12, daily flights between Clark and Puerto Princesa departs at 7 am and arrives at 10 am; Caticlan departs at 11 am and arrives at 1:10 pm; Tagbilaran service leaves at 2:10 pm and arrives at 5:00 pm; San Vicente, Palawan service

leaves at 7:00 am and arrives at 9:30 am; and the Cebu service leaves at 10:30 am and arrives at 1:10 pm.

CRK currently hosts 436 flights per week with 274 domestic and 162 internatio­nal flights and records an average of 7,000 passengers daily. As of September 17, the airport of the north has already serviced a total of 1.8 million passengers. Royal Air was establishe­d on August 22, 2002 and provides domestic and internatio­nal nonschedul­ed airline and cargo services to Manila, Batanes, Cauayan, Cebu, Laoag, Kalibo, Maconacon, San Vicente (Palawan), Macau and Clark starting November this year.— CIAC-CCO
