HANDLING WORKLOADS THROUGH TIME MANAGEMENT
FAITH P. SIBUG
It is really part of our job to do multi-tasking. We do not just teach but do a lot of roles related to our job. We coach in various academic and sports competitions, we organize extra-curricular activities, we conduct home visitations, we conduct remediation and of course, we accomplish paper works like Daily Lesson logs, compute grades and various reports. There would also be cases when our graduate school subjects do have requirements if we are enrolled as part of our professional growth goals.
With all of these mentioned, would we still be able to perform our jobs well? How could a teacher with just 2 hands be able to do all of these things? Do teachers still enjoy and have time for personal matters?
Well, definitely, yes. Even though we all know that teaching is taxing and tedious, we would be able to live a happy and normal life through time management. All we have to do is prioritize. The trick in accomplishing a lot of things well may not be so easy, but an experienced and resourceful teacher would be able to do many things efficiently.
Also, a teacher must be organized. He must have a routine and a habit in order to make things run more smoothly. Another thing is to be dedicated with our tasks. This doesn’t mean neglecting our own precious time intended for our household but just creating balance in everything we do. If it is something that we must prioritize, make sure that we use our vacant and spare time in accomplishing our tasks.
As the quote says: never put off for tomorrow that things we can do today”, it is of vitality to have self-discipline. In this case, workloads wouldn’t overflow like a basket full of laundry. They gradually diminish until we notice that we accomplished and finish all of them just in time.
