Give way to the young people

-

There should be a limit to senior citizen seeking election or appointment into office. Alfredo Lim of Manila is a living legend. He was a policeman par excellence. He was an outstanding mayor. He served as NBI director. He is in his 80’s so he deserves retirement.

Joseph Estrada has lived a long and eventful life. He was a screen hero. He was a senator. He was elected as President of the Philippines. He is the incumbent mayor of Manila. He is in his 80’s. He should rest and play with his apos.

These politicians should retire.

I do not know Isko Moreno personally. He appears ready to take the reins of government, having served as vice mayor to both aging gentlemen.

Our President, Digong Duterte is in his 70’s. Many of his appointees are past their prime. The new spokesman, Salvador Panelo, despite his outfit, is in his 70’s. We need a dynamic spokesman, who emotes en er gy.

Madam Speaker, Gloria Arroyo is in her 70’s. She has served the province and the country as well. She should rest in her laurels.

I am an admirer of Carmelo “Tarzan” Lazatin. Despite his age (80 or more), he aspired and won as barangay captain of Balibago, Angeles City. The good thing is, he yielded his desire to be a candidate for mayor of Angeles City in favor of his son.

Whether these leaders admit or not, they are past their primes. They need the services of care givers. These people should have prepared the way towards a transition.

Mahatir of Malaysia at 92 should watch from the sidelines. It’s good news that Fidel Ramos is not a candidate. Mr. Juan Ponce Enrile (is in his 90’s) should call it quits. They are past their retirements.
