HAU-SHTM’s ‘Travel Showcase’ featured in college days
The Holy Angel University (HAU) School of Hospitality and Tourism Management’s (SHTM’s) traditional Travel Showcase was again celebrated during the school’s college days held recently at the campus boulevard.
This year’s Travel Showcase, which was once again deemed ‘crowd-favorite’ and organized by the students of the Philippine Tourism and Geography subject, featured Philippine Fiestas from different parts of the country. Vibrant and creative booths were decorated with popular landmarks, renowned attractions, specialty products and unique landscapes.
A tour guiding competition highlighted the competence of SHTM students in tour guiding and delivering their commentaries and knowledge of the Philippine destinations. A cultural presentation through festival dances and costumes was part of the afternoon program, which the League of Tourism Students of the Philippines – HAU Chapter organized.
Moreover, SHTM students also presented products they developed for their Entrepreneurship and Business Planning (HENTREP) class as part of the college days. This year’s theme was about piloting products that feature cuisines from all over the globe. This activity allowed the HENTREP students to market test their products and gauge their viability; and to get response and feedback from customers, which enriched their overall activity takeaways.
