CI TY OF SAN FERNANDO - The City College of San Fernando, Pampanga (CCSFP) recently launched its new school brand called “Aslag ning Balen.”

The word “Aslag” means bright in Kapampangan, which symbolizes the school’s continuous development and progress.

The City Government of San Fernando opened the university to the public in 2009, to provide free quality education to poor but deserving Fernandinos.

With that, CCSFP became the second home of Fernandino students, who are building their dreams and achieving goals in life.

Mayor Edwin Santiago, together with Vice-Mayor Jimmy Lazatin, and CCSFP Coordinator Rachelle Yusi led the launching of the school brand, which also represents a brighter future for the school.

During his speech, Santiago connected the progress of the CCSFP to the “parul” or lanterns of the city.

Santiago said that like the shining and dazzling lanterns, CCSFP serves as a “light” to every Fernandino who aspires to have a better and brighter future. “The City College is the ‘Aslag ning Balen’in this city, because this is where good quality education starts. It is like the lanterns here which represent light and hope for every Fernandino, making them inspired in making their own dreams come to reality. I know that there are lots of children who will get molded, because someday, they are the ones who will shine with their own careers,”Santiago furthered.
