MY CAREER PATH

- WILFRIDA G. GUEVARRA

I never had the dream to upgrade my career. I never had the dream to be a leader. I never had a dream to step higher. Really I never had. I am contented that everyday I go to school, I am preparing my lessons, making visuals, learning the curriculum, and mastering my lessons, working six, eight, ten hours a day. It doesn’t matter. For me, what is important, I am with my students. They respect me. They love me. They inspire me. They complete me. And for me, to be called a teacher is an honor and I have done and still doing what I believed that will benefit my learners.

But when, I look at the world on the other side, I need to wake up. My students before are not the same students I have now. They have different needs. They have displayed different learning styles. And the approaches that I was used to, are no longer applicable to them. So, I need to open doors and windows for new trends in teaching. And I still have a lot to offer to my student.

Today, I am dreaming already that I will be promoted. I will step higher and I already accepted the challenge to be a leader. I already embraced technology as part of education. I already realized the importance of having a career path. I did not admit it before, now I am already claiming it. It’s not too late for me to handle responsibilities. It’s not too late for me to be promoted. It’s not too late for me to upgrade my education. Nothing is too late if you will begin now.
