ANGELES CITY- ViceMayor Bryan Matthew Nepomuceno led the opening of the newlyrenovated Angeles City Public Market (ACPM) wet section last Friday, her e.

The formal opening was marked with a ribbon cutting ceremony led by Nepomuceno, ACPM Administrator Angela Perez Dizon,

ABC President Jeremias Alejandrino, and Leticia Maiacup, Officer-in-Charge of the Angeles City Market Vendors’ Association.

With an allotment of P50 million, the 3,500 squaremeter area of the wet section features an entirely contemporary design and space-efficient innovation.

The newly engineered public market will be housing a total of 501 stalls constituting the meat, chicken, fish and assorted sections with a two-year lease agreement with the stall holders.

Dizon said that the market sector is indeed very grateful for making the construction of the new wet section concei vabl e.

Dizon also made a plea to the stall owners in taking care of the newly constructed market by maintaining tidiness and proper sanitation in their respective areas. The market administrator also urged them to religiously pay their rental to the city government so as to perpetually expect new changes and improvements in the future.

Each stall owner is mandated to pay a monthly rent depending on the section and size of the area they wish to occupy. Meanwhile, Nepomuceno said that the city government is elated to have produced such improvement which in the long run will benefit not only Angeleños but the market clients from neighboring towns and cities.

For his part, Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan expressed his optimism that the new wet section of the market will bring convenience to its patrons. The mayor also urged the public to take responsibility in using the facility.

“Now that we have completed the construction of the first phase, we are entering into another phase where we will put focus on the operations of our central market,” said Pamintuan. The construction of the remaining 935.27 square meter area is ongoing and is expected to be opened in the first quarter of 2019, he added.

The major face-lift of the Angeles City Public Market is considered as another milestone under the leadership of Pamintuan, which he stipulated under his expanded eight-point platform of governance, the Contract with the Angeleños.
