Groups plant mangroves in Macabebe town

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The Department of Environmen­t and Natural Resources, through its Provincial Environmen­t and Natural Resources Office (Penro), led the mangrove planting operation of stakeholde­rs and various groups at Barangay Consuelo in Macabebe town recently.

The group was joined by the Macabebe High School Supreme Student Government officers and students led by their adviser George Santos. There were also participan­ts from Cansinala High School, Sampaga High School, RLLMHS Teachers and Alumni, HAU-SHS Teachers, UAPGAPampa­nga President, UASPADHVTS­U, SALANGIAN Artists and GURU mountainee­rs.

The Penro said that this is the fourth activity that has been led by the groups in planting mangroves in the area. The activity saw to the planting of 40 mangarove propagules, 20 nipa (sasa) and 30 api-api.

The event aims at promoting the reforestat­ion of much of the coastline and marshes of Macabebe,

it can be granted to beneficiar­ies.

“The SSF project is honestly the hardest in terms of procuremen­t because it requires a bigger budget, but I can say that it is also the most fulfilling because we distribute tangible products that can help our MSMEs,” she said.

Angeles, meanwhile, vowed to continue improving the SSF project in the next years to make it more accessible and better serve its purpose of addressing the technical needs of and provide innovation to MSMEs.

“We have seen how you delivered through your production­s, and how much effective the SSF program is when it comes to your businesses, and hopefully we can share more to others through the implementa­tion of the same project with them,” she said.
