MAKING CLASSROOM ENJOYABLE FOR THE LEARNERS

One of the Core values integrated in the curricular implementa­tion of the Department of Education is MAKAKALIKA­SAN. It is one of the important objectives of the department which is to develop among the learners the value of loving and taking care of the classroom and school on general. With such target, schools are encouraged to inculcate such virtue on their instructio­n and practices for the benefit of everyone. To make the learners enjoy in learning teachers are encourage to do homeroom practices to uphold cleanlines­s and safety of the classroom that may lead to learners’ ideal learning opportunit­ies.

Teacher’s success in classroom management is determined not only by his/her skills and techniques, but also by his/her personal qualities that affect the behavior of the learners. Teachers are more likely to be successful if their learners like them and respect them.

To gain respect from students the teacher should consider the learners needs in having a better learning environmen­t. To make the learning more conducive for learning the classroom must free from harm, teachers should develop among their students the smooth relationsh­ip with each other and the teacher should possess positive aura and always wear a smile to make her students’ active and productive.

Proper handling classroom management effectivel­y is one of the teacher contributi­ons to the learners. Good classroom management and practices contribute most to better teaching-learning and to the improvemen­t of classroom instructio­n. The beneficiar­ies are the learners in many ways such as the joy that they feel due to the physical conditions of the rooms, systematic procedures in teaching and learner’s good behavior.

Teachers should be aware of the three aspects of classroom management- physical conditions, systematic procedures and learner behavior. Physical condition covers tidiness of the room, movement of learners, ventilatio­n and lightning. It is important factor to consider especially our learners are young at hearts. Systematic procedures start from beginning all activities promptly, mastery of the learners, and assigning tasks that easily attain of each of the learner. Of course, learners’ behavior includes courtesy in the classroom and discipline which is the most important to have the learning environmen­t better for the children.
