‘Marawi Heroes’awarded housing units in San Jose Del Monte

More than a year after the Battle of Marawi, a number of woundedin-action (WIA) hero soldiers can now rebuild their lives with hope after being awarded housing units by the government .

President Rodrigo R. Duterte led the turnover ceremony of the housing units to 35 WIA soldiers as well as 15 WoundedIn-Police-Operations at Pleasant View Residences in Barangay Graceville.

Recalling his experience during the battle against the Maute group, Private First Class Diosdado Alamon said he was fortunate enough to only be wounded. He said he received multiple gunshots last July 17, 2017 in a shootout in the battlefiel­d with the terrorists.

After returning home, he said he looks forward spending more time with his family and the provided housing unit is one of the things he is grateful for.

“I am very thankful to President Duterte for providing us soldiers with a new home wherein I can start a new and better life with my family. It is really beneficial especially that my live-in partner is now pregnant and we don’t have our own house in Samar where are staying right now,” the 26 year old furthered.
