ADOPT A SCHOOL
ZELCITA H. NANIONG
It is an accepted reality that education of a child is not the sole responsibility of the school. Public schools need the support of various partners in ensuring that complete and quality basic education is provided to the school children. It encourages to establish strong tie and mutual relationship with various stakeholders.
Republic Act 8525 or known as the Adopt-a-School Act of 1998 and of Revenue Regulations No. 10-2003 gives opportunities for stakeholders to be part of the noble goal of eradicating the existence of the ignorance among the future citizen of our country.
Department of Education collaborates with the Bureau of Internal Revenue to grant incentives to the private partners of DepEd such as tax deduction of Gross Income of private industries who give their financial resources to the public schools.
In the end, the main goal of Adopt A School Program is to look for partners in providing quality education among the learners in a safe, conducive and a child-friendly environment. The partnership will give a significant impact in the lives of the school administrators, teachers and especially the learners.
