BALANCE EQUATION OF STUDENTS

-

EDNA B. SIBAL

In order to achieve accord, man has to observe BALANCE in everything that he does. This is the Yin-Yang of the Chinese. Once balance is obtained, there will be harmony in all aspects of life.

In some instances, though, this is not achieved because of different points of view in life. In school, students are the center of learning, academic, sports and other co-curricular activities are their concern… of course students have different lines of interests or they may be good at… somehow even if a student doesn’t initiate his potential, his talent will be discovered byhis mentor.

It is in the training or process how students get to learn and develop their skills and ready them to compete and be parts of the challenge that will bring pride to them and their own school. Students as well teachers bring honor to school through their greatest accomplishments. This will serve as an inspiration to motivate more students to be parts in whatever performance the school has to offer and challenges the school has to overcome. This same achievements will motivate our students to strive more for the sake of excell ence.

We’ve been hearing a lot of issues concerning students who have accomplished many things but somewhat neglected things that are supposed to be significant because they did not observe balance.

The point is, students, too, should observe balance. In the school, they have to balance their time between academics and co-curricular activities, and between and among their subject areas.

Real life experiences will be meaningful if there is no conflict. There is no conflict if there is BALANCE in the pursuit of learning, in the pursuit of excellence, and in the pursuit of happiness, and this should start in the SCHOOL.
