Army accepts applicatio­n for candidate soldier course

TAccording to Major Jefferson Somera, 5th ID PA Division Public Affairs officer, priority applicants include qualified profession­als who are graduates of Military Science (MS) 43 and advance Reserve Officers' Training Corps, college graduates, those who finished at least 72 units in college, and K-12 graduates and high school graduates possessing technical/vocational skills needed by the Armed Forces of the Philippine­s.

The army official said interested applicants must be natural born Filipino citizens, 18-26 years old on the date of appointmen­t as candidate soldier, single, and of good moral character.

Somera said applicants should be at least 5.0 feet (152.4cm) in height both for male and female, but not more than 6'4'' (193.04 cm).

Applicants must also bring with them their original NSO Birth Certificat­e with official receipt, diploma with dry seal and Form 137 for high school graduate, 2 x 2 ID picture, at least two valid IDs, and whole body picture (size 3R).

Applicants must also submit a local clearance from the place of residence for at least five years (barangay, police, mayor, RTC, and NBI).

He said applicants must pass the Armed Forces of the Philippine­s Service and Aptitude Test (AFPSAT) as well as the pre-qualifying fitness test and medical exam and must be physically and mentally fit for military training.

Somera said qualified applicants will be notified on the final schedule of the AFPSAT.
