ARCELIE G. SANTOS
The ability of the students to develop science process skills is essential not only in science but in any situation that requires critical thinking. Every day we are being confronted with situations that require problem-solving and decision making that make use of scientific processes like observing, measuring, inferring, classifying, and predicting. Developing these science process skills among students is one of the important goals of any school. Various activities are being provided inside and outside the classroom or school to allow students to experience or practice different skills.
In Science, hands-on and manipulative activities escalate students’interest to learn more. The idea of providing “Sci-Fun Caravan Travelling Science Centrum”, which features replicas of science centrum’s interactive exhibits, provides educational opportunity to school children in the regions and provinces. This is a great opportunity for the students to enhance learning basic of science concepts and processes, upgrade and develop science literacy, and make learning science fun. If students are regularly exposed to these activities they will be able to apply creative and critical thinking which is necessary to search solutions or answers to all kinds of problems that are encountered in daily life.
