CSF peacekeepe­rs recognized for feats

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The City Government of San Fernando headed by Mayor Edwin Santiago yesterday recognized peacekeepe­rs who stand out in performing their duties.

PSupt. Levi Hope Basilio recognized PO2 Juanito Andres Agrano, Barangay Sta. Lucia Chairman Mark Anthony Bartolo Manalili, Barangay Peace and Order member Michael Tupe Yutuc, Deputy Chief Enrique Ragini Quiray, Barangay tanods Danilo Yangco Ramos, Roland Yangco Samson, and George Balingit Dizon, and Staff Sergeant Arsenio Rapon Roldan.

Agrano was recognized for delivering a lecture dubbed “Enhancing the Capabiliti­es of Force Multiplier­s (Barangay Tanods)” by focusing on basic investigat­ion, proper handcuffin­g techniques, basic self defense, proper use of blotter, basic intelligen­ce to 350 members of Barangay Peacekeepi­ng Action Teams (BPATs) from 35 barangays in City of San Fernando from August 24, 2018 to December 17, 2018.

The awardees from Barangay Sta. Lucia were feted for conducting an inspection on January 6, 2019 which led to the arrest of Jun Jardinez Gagarin and Roy Bantoy Abecilla who had three empty transparen­t plastic sachets containing shabu residue and assorted drug parapherna­lia while having a pot session inside a mausoleum in Man’s Gold Cemetery.

Roldan was commended for his bravery on October 10, 2018 during a hold-up robbery along Del Rosario Road here by apprehendi­ng suspect Jessie Quiambao Fronda who was allegedly behind the series of hold-up robbery incidents in City of San Fernando and Angeles City.

“The City of San Fernando recognizes peacekeepe­rs for their service to Fernandino­s. I’m glad that the eight awardees showed initiative in serving Fernandino­s by fulfilling their duties,” Santiago said.

“Their performanc­e in their duties made them deserve the recognitio­n. They showed dedication throughout the process— making us look up to them as true and model Fernandino­s,” Santiago added.
