Education should jive with the fast changing world and innovation is one of the ways to catch up with the new trends that are being implemented nowadays. Educators are the forefront of innovations and they are expected to be knowledgeable and wellinformed in many ways possible in terms of the developments in the field of learning and education.
Being innovative means you are ahead of the rest in terms of new ideas, strategies, and new learning activities. It also involves using the capabilities of everyone to generate new ideas to help the teaching and learning process be more functional, efficient and capable of coping up with change.
Creativity and innovation are becoming increasingly important for the development of the 21st century knowledge society. They contribute to economic prosperity as well as to social and individual wellbeing and are essential factors for a more competitive and dynamic citizens.
Students are more exposed of the new trends. As educators, we should still be ahead of them so we can guide them right with the proper use of this new development. Though education is conservative it should still achieve not only quantitative but also qualitative goal of education. There were also different competencies and were discussed that the student of 21st century should possess.
