Refill revolution brings low priced goods to Fernandinos anew
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— Fernandinos were able to avail recently of some low-priced but quality goods as the “refill revolution” was staged anew in the City of San Fernando.
A brainchild of the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB), refill revolution encourages the community in bringing their own containers in availing of different products at discounted prices from various partner suppliers.
For this edition, the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (Cenro) spearheaded the event in Barangay Sto. Rosario.
Event partner Hahsy Industries offered fabric conditioner and dishwashing liquid, while Nutri-Asia, Inc., together with Classic Brand Distributorship, Inc., made available their brands like “Datu Puti” vinegar and soy sauce.
CENR Officer Regina Rodriguez said that the city is glad for the continuous participation of their partners and wished to organize more Refill Revolutions in the coming months.
“We are very glad of our partner suppliers for this and we plan to stage this again during the Pyestang Fernandino in May,” said Rodriguez.
This was seconded by Hahsy Industries’ Heman Syki, who said “we are always willing to partner in all the events of the city like this, especially if it’s beneficial to the consumers and the suppliers, as well.”
Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago was also one of the lucky Fernandinos who availed of the products. He said that this was the city’s way of protecting the environment and providing the community cheap but quality goods.
“The refill revolution is in line with environmental protection. Instead of containers littering our communities, we could use them for this as well as a way to lower prices of commodities,”Santiago said.
The refill revolution is part of the 18th Cityhood Anniversary celebration of San Fernando, following the first two editions in June and December of 2018.— CSF-CIO
