Yabut meets San Simon elderly for sectoral consultati­on

SAN SIMON— Congressio­nal candidate Ricardo Yabut yesterday met with hundreds of senior citizens from San Simon as part of his regular round of consultati­on with the elderly sector.

Yabut said that he will bring the concerns and issues of the senior citizens in congress if he is given a chance to serve as congressio­nal representa­tive. Yabut isrunning for fourth district representa­tive in the coming elections this may.

“While we have existing laws for senior citizens, there is a need now to expand these and make them more responsive to the needs of the sector. There is also a need to ensure that all seniors are given the chance to benefit from the program in terms of implementa­tion,” Yabut sai d.

Yabut vowed to continue social programs for Pampanga’s fourth district. He will also file laws for out-of-school youths to give them more access to education.

Yabut was a former three-term board member and consistent­ly earned the highest number of votes.

As provincial legislator, Yabut was one of the top performing board members in the province. His legislativ­e agenda focused on environmen­t, education, health, and infrastruc­ture.

He is considered among the leading political figures in the fourth district and among the most visible.

Yabut is an active member and former president of the Rotary Club of Central Pampanga, Manila Lingkod Bayan Lions Club and other non-government groups in the province.
