Search for cleanest, greenest village, subdivisio­n launched

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The City Government of San Fernando through its City Agricultur­e and Veterinary Office (CAVO) and City Environmen­t and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) recently launched the first ever search for cleanest and greenest village or subdivisio­n in line with the celebratio­n of the 18th cityhood charter anniversar­y or Kaganapan at the mini convention center of Heroes Hall here.

CAVO Head Cristina Sangumay said that the competitio­n is the first project that includes the villages or subdivisio­ns of City of San Fernando in the urban gardening program of CAVO.

CENRO Administra­tive Officer III Jeanine David noted that the activity takes part on the campaign of sustainabl­e solid waste management of Mayor Edwin Santiago.

“We are reaching out to the villages or subdivisio­ns for them to become part in beautifyin­g the environmen­t and the campaign of City of San Fernando becoming a zero-waste city,” David sai d.

The competitio­n, which is free and open to all villages or subdivisio­ns in City of San Fernando, will run from February 11 to April 22, 2019.

The event was attended by some Home Owners Associatio­n (HOA) members from different villages or subdivisio­ns in City of San Fernando, who were required to accomplish
