English is our universal language. It is the medium commonly used in education, politics, medicines, legal matters, business transactions, documents and many more. Speaking is an important skill to be developed not only for the purpose of conversation/communication but during transactions. The purpose of having a sound speaking skill in English is very advantageous. Many employers assume that good speakers of English are assets.
We can not be well verse in speaking English for just a short period of time. It needs constant practice, as the quote goes “Practice makes perfect.” Every day is always an opportunity to enrich our speaking capability. There are many ways to develop our potentials in speaking. Reading and listening are the primary ways to improve our speaking gift in the English language. Let us use the products of technology like cellphones, ipods, computers, and others. We can start practicing speaking English at home, in school and the workplace. Aquino, the former president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, Senator Loren Legarda are just few among the many fluent speakers of English. Let us be motivated listening to great speakers. Enriching our vocabulary is equally essential. Nowadays, it is easy to unlock the unfamiliar words, cellphones and other gadgets have the access of the dictionary, no need to turn the pages of a thesaurus or encyclopedia.
Parents are the first teachers of the children. Every parent has a responsibility to his/her children. He/she must provide the prime commodities of their offsprings. Education of their sons and daughters are as important as these basic needs. Parents and teachers MUST give the best efforts in the learning process to the young minds.
