The Kids who need the most Love will ask for it in the most unloving of ways –unknown

This t-shirt print has caught my attention and it inspired me to dig deeper on life situations, specifically on dealing with the challenges I faced everyday inside my classroom.

Who wouldn’t have those students who are habitually in trouble or are making trouble inside our classroom, they were the one we usually master the name first from the list even at the very first day of the school year.

Here are some HUGOT lines to be remembered to improve classroom management .worthtryingfor:

Stay connected with parents

Parents need to be updated , make sure they know what is going on; how often he is in trouble, and what trouble it was. Great rapport with parent, won’t regret it.

Be Near with them at all times

When at all possible, place these pupils nearest you or stay within close proximity to him. The closest with them the quite they will be

There is Time for everything

Humiliating pupil in front of the class won’t save the day, Back off until you talk in private. Patiently wait for the best time.

Be more empathetic. Try to be in his shoes.

Understand what going with the pupil, there must be underlying reason for all his actions, try to find out what is really going on. Make a buddy system , get someone to talk to the pupil., Does he needs someone else to succeed? Peer tutoring works in BOTH ways.

Start all over again.

You might missed some of his good points. Try to think deeper, try to know the student again, reflect on your relationship to see if there is any way you can relate to the student . Who knows ? You might discover something l ovabl e.

Lastly remember , there is light at the end of each tunnel .

Never give up, no matter the behavior, don’t give up on trying to reach that student… There is no failure except in no longer trying. Each of our student is worthy of our time, love and effort.
