Delta: ‘Prevention better than cure’
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Vice-Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda urged the newest beneficiaries of Philhealth in Sasmuan and Sta. Rita towns to always practice the preventive health management system approach.
“Prevention is better than cure,” he said.
To reduce the risk of acquiring diseases, to maintain health stability and to assure wellness, the vice-governor reminded them the importance of being Philhealth members. “Take your health as a priority. Philhealth is the access of every Filipino to receive health care services for free. With this, regardless of social status - everyone has the right to avail
of much needed benefits when health concerns arise,” he added.
The 2,182 individuals from Sta. Rita and 3,259 from Sasmuan are included as members of Philhealth, in line with the “Alaga Ka Roadshow” of the National Government and Provincial Government led by Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda.
It can be recalled that before the national government implemented the preventive health management system, the lady governor already initiated it in the province.
The province allotted a budget for medical vans, dental buses, mobile clinics and a pharmacy that will roam Pampanga, especially in remote and coastal areas, to conduct outreach programs for Kapampangans’regular checku ps.
Moreover, Second District Board Member Anthony Joseph Torres, chair of the provincial board committee on health, assured the attendees the helping hand of Capitol in terms of medical assistance.
Meanwhile, Board Member Fritzie DavidDizon, Lubao Mayor Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab, Sta. Rita Mayor Ferdinand Salalila with Sangguninang Bayan members, and Sasmuan officials led by Mayor Nardo Velasco, also assisted the vice governor in distributing the Philhealth memberships.
