The HAU Founders Day Awards are given on March 8, the University’s foundation day anniversary which coincides with the birth anniversary of the school’s founder, Don Juan D. Nepomuceno.
The process of selection started a few months earlier with the University’s academic and non-academic units submitting their nominations and several committees shortlisting the finalists until the Board of Trustees decided on the winners a few days before the awarding ceremonies.
The awards give recognition to former employees and students of HAU as well as to Kapampangan cultural workers and lay Catholic educators, since the University is known as one of the country’s leading advocates of local history and culture and the country’s first Catholic school founded by a lay person.
University President Dr. Luis Maria Calingo and the Chairman of the HAU Board of Trustees Most Rev. Paciano Aniceto, D.D., Archbishop-Emeritus of San Fernando, will confer the awards during ceremonies to be held at the University Theatre on March 8 at ten o’clock in the morning after the Founders Day Mass.
