Drug pusher slain in armed encounter
CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga - A suspected drug personality was killed when he traded shots with police operatives in Barangay San Joaquin, Sta. Ana, Pampanga on Sunday.
Police Colonel Jean Fajardo, Pampanga police provincial director, identified the slain suspect as Gary Tungol alias Ka Roman Bordado, a resident of the said barangay.
Fajardo said joint operatives of the Sta. Ana police and Pampanga Provincial Intelligence Branch armed with a search warrant issued by Judge Mary Anne P. Padron-Rivera of Regional Trial Court-Branch 46, City of San Fernando, Pampanga when they raided the house of Tungol.
She said that the police operatives were about to implement the said search warrant when the suspect tried to escape at the back portion of his house.
Fajardo said the suspect, while running from the operatives, fired his caliber .45 pistol towards them.
This prompted the operatives to retaliate killing Tungol on the spot, she said.
Recovered from the scene were 15 small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, one caliber .45 M1911 A1 pistol loaded with ammunitions, three magazines loaded with 40 pieces caliber .45 live ammunitions and five spent shells for caliber .45.— Ric Sapnu
