-

EDELINA G. MALLARI

Undeniably, learning is a continuous process, not only for students but also for us teachers. As always, we may learn anything from what is happening and from our society or environment requires us to learn. As educators, we need to keep ourselves abreast with the needs of our students, thus we need to continuously learn too.

Coping up with the needs of students means assessing and analyzing what they need to learn or what they need to study. As teachers, we have to assess what are the things that we need to teach, in consonance with the current trends or with the forecasted future needs of learning.

Teaching our students is arming them for their future. We need to equip them with the right and proper weapon that they shall be needing when they finish their schooling. This is one way of preparing students after their academic lives hence, they need to be prepared properly, and at par with the future they want to be in someday.

One way of coping up with the students’needs is coping up with the latest trends and technology. The internet is a seemingly endless avenue to learn things. The social media meanwhile is a window to the world where our students may learn things, good or bad. Through social media, we need to be cautious however on sensitive matters that we need to carefully select what is to be fed or not to students.
